What I'm About

My middle name is Armstrong. I enjoy a good pair of boots. I travel for inspiration. But you're probably not here for that. I'm a web developer with a lot to offer. Go right or left for more about me as a person and developer or scroll below to see a glimpse of my work.

Things I'm Good At

My Zoo

Ziggy is the featured exhibit. I was actually afraid of cats at the time I rescued Ziggy.

While not actually a pig, you could be deceived by her laziness and bottomless stomach.

Ollie J is a street rat turned lap cat. His chewed ear is all that's left of his street days.

Don't let her name fool you, she's as wild and crazy as they come.

Selected Projects

In here you will find some choice projects that are totally nectar, bro. These projects are by no means inclusive of my skills, but just some examples that represent my interests.

NECB TalkTracks

This project was an exercise in the iceberg theory. Meant to be used as an onboarding aid, this site is designed for admissions representatives to guide prospective students or employees through potential benefits of enrolling at the online university New England College of Business.

Golf Academy Home Page

Golf Academy required a little more finesse on the backend than it needed TLC on the front end. After some minor adjustments and some refactoring I managed to reduce page size by 50% and drastically improve Google PageSpeed and GTMetrix scores.

Brightwood College AMP Landing Page

The process of converting a landing page into Google's experimental AMP paid off with some huge dividends. The accelerated load time has led to some great results on conversions. AMP definitely has drawbacks, but anything that receives preferable Google Search treatment is going to be key in the future.

CourseVenture

This LAMP stack project was an attempt to revisualize and retool the way students register for classes. This experiment allowed students to save classes in a shopping cart and visualize a personal schedule at checkout.

Birmingham Brews a Lot

This React driven project provides more information on Birmingham's thriving local brewery scene. Most of the core beers from each local brewery are listed along with the ability to search and filter results based on a number of details.

What's Inspiring Me

It's important to stay inspired and to keep the pendulum swinging. I try to draw my inspiration from my everyday interactions with the world as I travel around it, as well as staying up to date on readings from other professionals and academics.

Big Blue Marble

It's cheap. It's comprehensive. Not to mention how the incredible map completely changed the way we diagram.

London sidewalks, where Londoners pass on the right, but the rest of the world passes on the left. Really makes you think.

This eyesore doesn't just ruin the view, it literally melts cars into the sidewalk.
